Golfers turn out for MS Support Centre
Local companies recently contested their own version of the Open on a blisteringly hot day at Helsby Golf Club. In a fund raising event held to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Multiple Sclerosis Support Centre in Saltney, organized and sponsored by Bell Meadow Ltd, ten Teams of four played out a “Texas Scramble”.
Following a competitive but highly enjoyable competition the team led by Bill Smith eventually ran out close winners, with the Real Earth and the Smith and Sons teams in joint second place. Seen here accepting first prize of a Quad Biking session at Catton Hall is Bill Smith and his triumphant team of Bob Pritchard Chris Garratt and Tom March. Handing over the award, Stuart Cranfield, Managing Director of Bell Meadow, said he was delighted to be part of supporting the valuable work of the MS Support Centre. Prizes also went to the winners of Birdie 2's and Nearest the pin challenges.
Other competitors were Bell Meadow, i7, Valehouse Consulting Engineers, Warrington Electrical Services and the Hugh MacDonald, Phil Tasker and the MS Support Centre teams.
Neil Kemsley, Chairman of the MS Support Centre, also pictured below, thanked all those who supported the event, including Helsby's Golf Club Captain Martin Mann who donated the first prize, and other prize sponsors Hugh MacDonald of RBS, Dave Pilkington of Hyde Group, Richard Jones of Yuasa, Simon Towers of Club-Clean, Stuart Cranfield of Bell Meadow, Paul Latham of Cooksons Hardware, Nathan Amey of Watts Commercial Finance and Helsby President Franc Cunniffe. The event raised a fantastic £1,500 for the MS Support Centre, and was such a success that plans are already being made to repeat it next year.
The Multiple Sclerosis Support Centre in Saltney Chester is an independent local charity that provides a self-help base for people with MS and their family carers. By providing the best possible support, advice and therapies to people with MS and other neurological conditions the Multiple Sclerosis Support Centre help its members from across North Wales, Cheshire and Wirral live full and productive lives.
